Top Layer, Solid Sawn Veneers vs. Rotary

“Chateau Collection” is made using solid sawn 3 mm wood veneers, resulting in very natural grain patterns, which are indistinguishable from traditional solid wood flooring. Rotary sliced veneers, which are commonly used in many engineered floors, result in unnatural grain patterns with less character similar to plywood. When you are ready to purchase your new wood floor, make sure your selection is manufactured using solid sawn veneers.

How do we make it look aged? We don't just paint the edges like the cheaply made competition. We do it the old fashion way to achieve the correct look. First we completely stain the entire plank black enhancing the grain and coloring the edges. Then we lightly hand scrape the face of each plank removing the black stain from the surface area. Lastly, we sand the plank smooth. The “Chateau Collection” is completely crafted and assembled by hand; no machines are used to create the character of this product.

The wood can only look as good as the finish allows. Chateau Collection has a low luster UV cured oil finish. The finish is extremely clear and smooth. No orange peal or foggy finish here. Oil offers a very natural look without the plastic look most urethane floors present. With this oil finish surface scratches and scuffs can be easily repaired. The Chateau Collection is made with a 7 ply all birch core. Birch is a very stable wood that makes the best core available. Although many other companies use a multi-ply core the wood used may be poplar, or another less desirable species. Although these species/cores are cheap they don't offer the stability and resistance to moisture that birch provides. Don't confuse mixed wood multi-ply cores with a birch multi-ply core, they are not the same and do not perform the same.

The Chateau Collection is comprised with both American walnut and maple.

The engineering of the planks and parquets have been designed to easily mix together within the same installation. The tongue and groove match from plank to parquet which makes achieving professional results quick and easy.

Our product is of engineered construction. The nature of our construction makes it environmentally friendly. From the top our floor looks exactly the same as a solid wood floor, when installed no one can distinguish the two. The environmental difference is that by using an engineered construction we are able to make at least 4 times the amount of flooring by using the same amount of “The Limited Specie Lumber/Hardwood”. This material is considered to be a slow growth wood. The majority of the overall mass of this product consists of Siberian Birch. The birch is very fast growing plentiful specie. In addition, our finish is vegetable based and has no VOC's present.

The Chateau Collection is a complete program equipped with pre-finished matching moldings. These moldings are produced in a manner to offer the best match possible. All moldings are made with the same specie as the flooring not just stained to match. They also have the matching distressing and French bleed on them.
